Andrew Deubert

After a break from ceramics for almost thirty years, I decided to rekindle my interest in the art once again, and now have a fully functioning pottery here in east London.

I like producing simply shaped pots, vases and urns, but decorate them using bright bold colours, which when fired produces an organic finish to the pots appearance.

All my pots are individually made using traditional pottery techniques. The final pieces are often finished with the application of several different glazes, with multiple firings to produce the desired result. This process is what gives some of them their attractive marble effect finish and is reflected in their cost.

I also have an interest in the Raku firing process, whereby the pots are fired to the desired temperature and then immediately removed from the kiln and treated to produce a diverse range of finishes.

Currently I exhibit my work for sale at the Leyton & Stone Designers Market, or through Leyton Pottery on this website. I'm also a member of London Potters and have exhibited works at the last two LPs exhibitions, held at the Morley Gallery. Winning    Best Set of Works  in 2015  and Best in show at the last exhibition in 2016.
